At its January
meeting, the Women Economic Developers of Long
Island (WEDLI) addressed a challenge on which
it continues to focus: Long Island’s growth and
economic well being. Speaker, Lawrence C. Levy,
Executive Director, National Center for Suburban
Studies at Hofstra University painted a picture
entitled ‘Suburban Forecast’ which recommended
that now is the time for Long Islanders to take
the opportunity, provided by the current economic
crisis, to address smart growth and sustainability.
