On October 11th, WEDLI presented
the second a series of three breakfast meetings on
a timely and important issue affecting Long Island
in the near futures: The long range planning efforts
of both the newly re-constituted Long Island Regional
Planning Board and New York City's just lately unveiled
PlaNYC. This plan proposes to guide housing, transportation,
environmental and land use decision making in New
York City over the next 20 years in ways that could
have dramatic impact on Long Island's prosperity
and quality of life.
On this occasion our speaker was Helena Williams,
newly appointed President of the Long Island Railroad.
