DYNAMIC ENTREPRENEUR WINS
SCHOLARSHIP
Michelle Castro (2nd R) is a success minded dynamo
who juggles motherhood and her business, Hair Design
by Michelle in Amityville, a salon specializing
in haircare, cosmetic sales and fashion jewelry.
"We chose Michelle as the recipient of the
Dorothy Tripp-Sally Slacke Scholarship because she
demonstrates the positive attitudes that go into
making a success," says Roslyn D. Goldmacher
(R), President & CEO Long Island Development
Corp., co-founder of the scholarship that honors
the memory of two of Long Island's most famous business
women. "This award recognizes the desire and
the will to succeed that was the hallmark of both
Dorothy and Sally," says Judith K. Beckman
(L) of Financial Solutions/Goldner Siegfried Associates,
Inc., co-founder of the scholarship fund."
The award was made in conjunction with the Women
Economic Developers of Long Island (WEDLI) at the
Heckscher Museum in Huntington at WEDLI's annual
installation dinner. Michele Pincus ((2nd L) is
