Women Economic Developers of Long Island (WEDLI) is a not for profit organization whose goals are to foster economic development on Long Island. Its members are high-level women decision-makers working either in economic development or in a company with impact on it.
WEDLI presents The Madelyn Orsini Award annually to a female student who demonstrates the values of the WEDLI organization by their commitment to leadership and community service on Long Island. The Annual Award is up to $1,000.
Applicant must meet the following criteria:
- Nominated by an active member of WEDLI.
- Primary resident of Nassau or Suffolk County and,
- Attend an institution of Higher Education on Long Island.
- Successfully completed two years of undergraduate coursework or one year of graduate coursework.
- WEDLI members are not eligible for the award, but their family members are eligible
- Application deadline is April 16, 2012.
Applicants must complete and return the application form with a letter of recommendation from an active WEDLI member and an official transcript must be mailed separately to:
